Sara Reimers, First Violin
I have played the violin since I was 8 years old (with a 10 year break that coincided with my military service) and this is my 3rd full season with the Columbia Orchestra. The most unique violin experience I ever had was when I studied abroad during college. I was enrolled in a French Service-Learning program in Montpellier, France. Montpellier is a beautiful and very old town in the South of France that still boasts a medieval city centre with cobbled stone streets. Halfway through my semester, I realized I had run out of money (Yipes!) so I decided to play on the street to raise travel cash. I played almost every day for about a month and ended up with enough money to go to Paris.
When I am not playing with the Columbia Orchestra or busy with my day job, I am perfectly content to spend a quiet evening at home with my husband and 7-year old Black Lab. Otherwise, I am very active in the Laurel Church of Christ, love to scrapbook and make cards, and try to travel as much as our family budget and vacation days will allow.
