A Pittsburgh native, Roy has been playing with the Columbia Orchestra since 1999. Prior appointments since moving to Maryland have been Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Rockville Concert Band and trumpet with the Columbia Concert Band. While still in Pittsburgh, Roy was the Principal Trumpet of the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra under the baton of Keith Lockhart, now Music Director of the Boston Pops. Roy is a graduate of Duquesne University where he received a B.S Degree in Music Education. He studied trumpet under Charles Hois, Jack McKee and Frank Woodbury, all members in the trumpet section of the Pittsburgh Symphony of the sixties through eighties.

Roy is a tax systems and software specialist within the Tax Operations group of USTrust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In addition to providing technical support and leadership of several tax vendors systems, Roy has developed several custom software applications in use by the Tax Departments for specialized tax processing and tracking systems.
