Nancy  Smith

Nancy Smith holds bachelors and masters degrees in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music and the Florida State University School of Music, respectively. Since 2002, she has been Pianist of the Columbia Orchestra. Previously, Nancy performed with the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra, and as pianist with numerous choral groups. Her chamber music experience extends to performances as part of the International Institute for Chamber Music, the Sarasota Music Festival, the Festival of New Music, the Dickinson Piano Quartet, and The Columbia Orchestra Trio. Over the years, Nancy’s career has morphed from free-lance musician to a career that has included stints in arts administration, non-profit management, and proposal development. Her career has included tenures as Manager of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, service with the Florida Arts Council, Executive Director of AEMS: Arts Education in Maryland Schools Alliance, and work for the national consulting company MGT of America. Currently, Nancy is Director of Grants Development for The Community College of Baltimore County, where she oversees the design of projects in a broad array of disciplines. In 2010, with her help, the college received more than $10 million in grant funding.
