Harpist, Meredith Mancini, is an active free-lance harpist in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area. Meredith began playing the harp at age 8. She is a cum Laude graduate of The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at The Catholic University of America, where she studied with Jeanne Chalifoux. She has also trained under Alice Chalifoux at the Salzedo Summer Harp Colony.
In addition to Columbia Orchestra she performs with numerous regional orchestras, including the Prince George’s Philharmonic, the Capital Wind Symphony, and the Piedmont Symphony. Meredith performs regularly with the Washington Savoyards, Opera Camerata, the Howard County Ballet, the Rockville Summer Dinner Theatre for 30 years, and the Victorian Lyric Opera Company. Meredith is a former harpist of the Maryland Symphony. She has performed most major Broadway shows. Meredith performed for the critically acclaimed production of “The Fantasticks” at the Round House Theatre in 2000, as well as the 2009 production of Olney Theatre Center’s “Camelot.” Meredith has performed for Ford’s Theatre annual production of “A Christmas Carol.” Meredith has performed in the Vatican for Pope John Paul II, and in backup orchestras for Neil Sedaka and The Moody Blues.
Ms. Mancini is an active harp instructor in the Washington/Baltimore area of all ages and abilities. She has been the harp instructor for the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program for over 15 years. She is currently the harp instructor for Montgomery College, and maintains an active private studio as well. She has previously taught at Catholic University and the Ottley School of Music.
Meredith has been an active harpist for weddings, receptions, and all special events for over 20 years. Ms. Mancini is a published arranger for harp ensembles, solos, and musical scores.
