Jeeyun Kim, Second Violin
I started playing the violin in 5th grade through my elementary school's program. Mr. Jan Turkiewicz taught me many things about music and math during private violin lessons from 8th through 11th grade. Then, I studied violin for a year with Dr. Ronald Francois who taught me to always find a story in the music.
After high school, I put the violin on the back burner while getting my degree in electrical engineering. I'm happy to be playing regularly again, after a long 14 year hiatus, with this orchestra. I particularly appreciate the arrhythmic modern music we play, because it has forced me to learn to count my music better.
