Esther Wagner-Yuan, Second Violin
Mrs. Esther Wagner-Yuan holds a bachelor's degree in violin performance from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She began playing violin at the age of 3, studying using Suzuki method, then with Pittsburgh Symphony members. She performed as a free-lance musician in Pittsburgh for several years, playing in local orchestras and string quartets.
She holds a master's degree in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania, and taught sixth grade for the past two years in Virginia. Before that, she taught private lessons extensively. She also directed the California University of PA's string ensemble and taught lessons as an adjunct professor there.
Mrs. Wagner-Yuan plays jazz, blues, and other styles of music. She has been a member and/or recorded with several bands: Mandorla, Joy Ike, B & G, Nadina's Cube, and others. She has had the opportunity to play jazz at clubs in Pittsburgh, wine festivals in VA, and at Twins in DC.
