Annette  Szawan

Grew up in Canton, Ohio and attended Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music earning a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Went on to graduate school to receive a Masters of Music Education from Kent State University.

Presently an Orchestra Director in Howard County Schools for 22 years. Was director of Elementary Enrichment G/T Orchestra for 20 years. Was selected for Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2004.

Chair for the Columbia Orchestra's Young Artist Competition and is an active Adjudicator for Orchestra Festivals, All-State Auditions, and Solo & ensemble Events throughout the state.

Has played first violin in the Columbia Orchestra for 20 years and still loves every minute of it!!

Loves to relax with a good Sci-Fi movie/tv series. Resides in Ellicott City with husband, bernie, and has a daughter living in Florida.
