Anne Ward, Horn
Anne has been a member of The Columbia Orchestra since 1997 and a member of the orchestra’s Board of Directors since 1999, currently serving as Vice President. She also serves as Wind Personnel Manager and Audition Coordinator.
Anne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Towson State College and a Master of Education degree from Towson State University. After 40 years of teaching instrumental music in MD and PA public and private schools, Anne retired in 2010. She continues to maintain a small private studio. In addition to performing as principal horn in the orchestra, she performs with the Ellicott Brass Quintet, the Resurrection Brass Quintet, and various local chamber ensembles.
Although music activities are dominant in her life, Anne enjoys golfing, skiing, walking, biking, and reading. She shares her life with her husband, Duke, and black lab mix, Isabella. They all enjoy mountain and lake activities at their vacation home in Garrett County.
Anne is looking forward to another exciting and challenging season of music. She loves that the music director, staff, and orchestra members work together as a team to produce such a vibrant organization.
